This is the blog site created by Kyle Sturtevant to display my deep affinity and personal passion for design, architecture and the concept of what the Home can mean to each of us. As I see it, the Well Composed Home goes beyond an organized floor plan, an appealing facade or a collection of features. It goes beyond the commonly touted criteria such as square footage, proportion of bedrooms to baths or the general checklist of amenities. Beyond the areas of specialty expertise such as green building, kitchen and bath design or even interior design. It is far more. In a sense, it is the culmination of all of these entities as they come together in perfect harmony reflecting the true personality of its owners. When this is accomplished, a unifying composition is created. And, for me, this is a joy to witness. It can only be regarded as a work of Art created at the hands of the owner. With a career spanning over 20 years in the homebuilding industry, this pursuit has become my field of exploration. And now a days I consider myself to be student of the finer disciplines that help to transform a house into a lasting treasure.
Beyond homebuilding and remodeling, my world revolves around three wonderful children and a beautiful wife. Even though things have been challenging for the past couple of years (to say the least), we are very blessed.
